Project description

After CAAR introduced the Walkley Foundation to the Kuwait Embassy with the intention of initiating an exchange program, an Australian delegation made a highly successful trip to Kuwait in March-April 2017. The Walkley Foundation coordinated a delegation of leading editors and journalists (including the ABC's Emma Alberici and Sky News's Peter Van Onselen) who attended five days of meetings in Kuwait. With CAAR's support we will work with the Kuwait Ministry of Information to reciprocate this trip and bring seven Kuwaiti journalists to Sydney and Canberra to meet with leading newsrooms, local media innovators as well as government and business representatives. All of these meetings will be sourced from our extensive partner network. We would also coordinate networking with our media partners (all major Australian media organisations from Buzzfeed to News Corp to the ABC) to raise the Australian public's awareness and understanding of Kuwait.
