Project Description

In Queensland schools, approximately 20 per cent of students are identified as English as an additional language or dialect learners. In Korean schools, teaching English with native teachers has been implemented since 1995. Research reveals that both teachers need professional development to build authentic strategies for teaching and communication in intercultural contexts. In these contexts, the project is:

  1. to create a synergistic beneficial effect on their reciprocal teaching by offering opportunities for teachers to reflect their practices, observe and learn from each other and share their experiences,
  2. to develop a professional relationship between them by transforming their mutual experiences and practices into building effective teaching and communication strategies,
  3. to collaboratively disseminate the outcomes throughout local communities for professional relationship building, and
  4. to ensure deep engagement and sustainable relationship between them by utilising information and communication technologies.
