Project Description

Despite recent technological advancements, seamless technological conversion to achieve the goals of sustainability in the built environment and introduce collaborative cultures in the construction industry has not yet been achieved. This project will use a research
colloquium to establish a collaboration platform between Australia and Korea to work towards these goals. Potential synergy is recognized between the two countries as Korea has strength in the applications of smart technologies in construction, while Australia has strength in the management processes to achieve project goals. The colloquium will develop people-to-people networks including PhD students and early career researchers, and institutional cross disciplinary relationships spanning multiple organizations and countries to initiate and develop research collaborations for a Smart and Open Society for Sustainable Life. It will enhance positive images of Australia and Korea by providing a unique opportunity to the public to experience cutting-edge smart technologies including Virtual Reality and 3D Manufacturing System.
