Australia-China Council Grants 2013-14: Supporting Australia-China Partnerships
The Australia-China Council (ACC) Board is pleased to announce the successful grant recipients for 2013-14. ACC awarded funding to 38 projects across Education and Science, Society and Culture and Economics and Trade priority themes.
The grant round yet again demonstrated a significant and rapidly growing interest in Australian communities in engaging with China. In the first stage of the round, ACC received a record of 263 Expressions of Interest (EOIs) with a total requested funding of over A$9 million. The number of EOIs increased from 236 last year and 214 in 2011-12, despite very limited promotional activities.
ACC-funded projects build capabilities of Australian institutions and people to successfully engage with China. ACC strives to support creativity and entrepreneurship of Australian communities to deepen and broaden Australia-China ties across education, cultural, business and community sectors.
I would like to thank all grant applicants for the time and effort and wish you all the best with your initiatives and projects.
The Hon Warwick Smith AM
