Minister for Trade and Tourism Senator the Hon Don Farrell represented Australia at the Fourth Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement Ministers’ Meeting held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 25 September in the sidelines of the 57th ASEAN Economic Ministers’ Meeting.
RCEP Ministers welcomed the full operationalisation of the RCEP Support Unit and tasked officials to consider requests for accession by aspirant economies following the adoption of the Terms of Reference of the Ad Hoc Accession Working Group.
RCEP Ministers issued a Joint Media Statement undertaking to keep markets open, free and rules-based, to remove unnecessary barriers to trade and to strengthen trade and investment facilitation.
