DFAT is aware of an email scam purporting to be from the DFAT Secretary, Frances Adamson.  The email is being distributed from the address: australian_government.department_foreign_affair@australiamail.com

The email claims to have recovered money from scammers that is owed to the addressee, and asks the addressee to respond in order to arrange for the money to be transferred.

People receiving this email should delete it.  DFAT will only ever send emails from an official dfat.gov.au address.
