Africa Day at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade

DFAT celebrated Africa Day with a panel discussion called Diaspora - A key to successful foreign policy.

Our panellists included AGAAR Chair Dr Casta Tungaraza, Mr Fred Alale, Chair, African Music and Cultural Festival and Mr David Vincent, South Sudanese peacebuilder.

The Foreign Policy White Paper has, for the first time, recognised the role of diaspora in foreign policy and DFAT was pleased to host a wide-ranging and thoughtful discussion on the topic.
