The first Indonesia-Australia-India Senior Officials' Strategic Dialogue, Bogor, Indonesia

International relations

Senior officials from Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade met today with Indonesia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and India's Ministry of External Affairs to discuss a shared vision for an open, inclusive and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.

Officials explored ways to achieve common goals and build habits of cooperation in the region. This included promoting and protecting the rules-based order in the Indian Ocean, Southeast Asia and across the Indo-Pacific; improving connectivity and economic cooperation; combatting terrorism and transnational organised crime; and cooperation in disaster management.

Participants committed to continuing discussions, and building cooperation on the basis of shared values and common interests.

The first Indonesia-Australia-India Senior Officials' Strategic Dialogue complements the work done by the three countries in the Indian Ocean Rim Association and the East Asia Summit.
