The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade welcomed Indian officials from the Ministry of External Affairs for the fourth Australia-India Maritime Dialogue in Canberra, on Friday.
The meeting was hosted by Acting First Assistant Secretary, South and West Asia Division, Mr Paul Myler. Additional Secretary Shri Indra Mani Pandey led the Indian delegation.
The Maritime Dialogue focused on how Australia and India can deepen civilian and naval maritime engagement in areas of shared interest. The discussion included cooperation through regional Indian Ocean forums, maritime domain awareness, humanitarian aid and disaster relief cooperation, search and rescue and collaboration in science and research.
Australia and India continue to work together to strengthen the Indian Ocean's regional architecture.
