Call for Submissions - Potential new autonomous sanctions framework for Afghanistan

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is undertaking public consultation on proposed amendments to the Autonomous Sanctions Regulations 2011 (Cth). Submissions close on Wednesday 22 October 2025 (11.59pm AEDT).

The proposed amendments will introduce new listing criteria for Afghanistan, insert an arms embargo on Afghanistan and a ban on providing arms-related services to Afghanistan.
