Summary of publication
Investment design is the mechanism through which DFAT translates policy intent and investment objectives into outcomes and impact. In a partner-led design, a partner organisation—such as a multilateral development bank, an NGO or a UN agency—prepares a design/proposal for DFAT, and DFAT prepares an accompanying Investment Design Summary (IDS). This template is for an IDS for a partner-led design valued at $3 million (GST inclusive) or more. The IDS should focus on DFAT’s strategic objectives, governance and management arrangements and resourcing for the investment. The IDS must be a maximum of 15 pages and written in concise, plain language.
