Australia India Council Annual Report 1999–2000

Public awareness

The objective of the Council’s public awareness program is to increase awareness and understanding between the peoples and institutions of Australia and India. The program has served generally to broaden the reach and impact of the Council’s activities.

The two key elements of the program are the Council’s annual report, and the Australia–India Focus newsletter, which is published five times a year and provides information on recent and forthcoming events within the bilateral relationship. Australia–India Focus is jointly funded by the AIC, the Australia–India Business Council and Austrade, and distributed in both Australia and India. In the light of the continuing positive public response to Australia–India Focus, the Council agreed to contribute to the costs of a fourth year of publication of the newsletter. Subscription details for Australia–India Focus—for which there is no cost—are available here.
