90 Note From Casey To Nishi

17th November, 1954

CANBERRA

The Minister of State for External Affairs presents his
compliments to his Excellency the Ambassador of Japan and has the
honour to state that the Australian Government has been giving
careful consideration to the question of Australia's trading
relations with Japan, and is willing to enter into talks with the
Government of Japan to examine mutual trade problems.

It is suggested that talks should commence at a time and place to
be mutually agreed upon.
