I shall be leaving here for London with the Prime Minister by
Constellation on 15th April. [1] Unless circumstances make it
impossible for you to leave Batavia, I should like to discuss
Indonesian situation with you in Singapore on my way through.
Please let me know whether you can meet me there.
1 Burton accompanied Chifly to the meeting of British Commonwealth
Prime Minister held in London from 22 to 28 April, travelling by
air via Singapore, where he talked with Critchley, and via India.
According to a report from Teppema to Stikker dated 13 April,
Chifley had informed Teppma that the Indonesian situation was not
on the agenda of the British Commonweaith Prime Ministers'
Conference although it would be discussed informally with Attlee.
