The Tongan National Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Strategy is a multi-year strategy funded by the Governments of Tonga and Australia, and other donor partners. The launch of the NCD Strategy in February 2016 coincided with the signing of a five-year agreement (AUD 2.1 million) with the Tonga Health Promotion Foundation to support the implementation of the strategy.
The strategy builds on the expertise and knowledge of implementing partners whilst taking into account global guidelines to focus on good practice, feasible actions that address the whole population but place a clear emphasis on young people and a healthy start to life.
