Description

The Annual Report provides detailed information on progress for four of Vanuatu's eight priorities under the Vanuatu Education Road Map: school grants and fee relief; quality reforms; improved management; and two education sector priorities (early childhood education and teacher education). It has less information on facilities and human resource development. The report includes the following highlights: approval of Vanuatu's Basic Education Policy and consultation on other policies; school grants commenced and enrolments in years 1 to 6 increased; all primary school head teachers and school councils trained about school grants, financial management and book-keeping; 61 classrooms built or renovated in four provinces; National Curriculum Statement approved; curriculum implemented for the Vanuatu Institute of Teacher Education and 100 new teaching students.
