Summary of publication

This document reports on Fiji Institution of Engineers training on the revised wind code AS/NZ 1170.2:2011.

Training on 2 and 3 June 2011 in Suva involved 10 presentations to 180 invited participants including engineers, architects, disaster managers, donors, government employees, tertiary teaching institutions, banks, financial institutions, insurance industry, developers, planners, South Pacific Applied Geoscience Commission (SOPAP) and the World Bank.

The report notes that the Fiji Institution of Engineers, Insurance Council of Fiji, National Disaster Management Office, Architects, Local Governments, Public Works Department, Reserve Bank of Fiji and Commerce Commission agreed to reconvene in future to advance the issues discussed during the training.
