Summary of publication

This is a proposal from the Fiji Institution of Engineers for funding to train engineers, technologists, technicians, builders, insurance companies, developers, bankers, disaster risk managers and others involved in building and constructing on the revised wind code AS/NZ 1170.2:2011.

The proposal is for two days of training in four sessions for 100 participants each day to explain how the new wind code would affect building standards (e.g. for cyclone shutters and window glazing), warranties, insurance and liabilities in Fiji. It also proposed a session on lessons for Fiji engineers considering experience with cyclones Yasi and Larry.
