Fiji Community Development Program (FCDP): Survey of Fiji Civil Society Organisations Summary Report

Summary of publication

This document details the findings of an online survey of Fiji civil society organisations' sectoral needs, capacities and priorities to inform future Australian support.

The online survey obtained responses from 83 people representing 50 organisations including religious organisations, community-based organisations, national and international non-government organisations, trade unions and service clubs. While the survey was broadly representative, some AusAID-funded organisations did not respond.

The survey found that in order to achieve their mandate and expand and improve their services, civil society organisations seek funding and support from donors for:

  • ongoing service delivery
  • improved human resources and capacity to effectively deliver programs to meet community needs
  • better cooperation and collaboration among civil society organisations, and between organisations and communities they serve.
