Summary of publication

This document details the implementation arrangements for cooperation between the department and the Australian Sports Commission to advance the Australian Government's policies of promoting growth, stability and prosperity.

The Record of Understanding sets out the responsibilities of the Australian Sports Commission and the department to manage and account for funds provided under two schedules:

• Schedule 1 is for the department to provide $2 million per year from 1 July 2006 to 30 June 2011 for sport for development activities in the Pacific ($1 million per year), Southern Africa ($400,000 per year) and small grants in Commonwealth countries, the Pacific and the Caribbean ($600,000).
• Schedule 2 is for the department to provide $3.094 million per year from 10 June 2009 to 30 June 2014 for sport for development activities as outlined in 'Sport for Development – A Strategy for the Australian Sports Outreach Program'.
