MISSION STATEMENT

To further develop relations between Australia and Indonesia by the promotion in Australia of a greater understanding of Indonesia and by the promotion in Indonesia of a greater understanding of Australia, as well as the enlargement over the longer term of the areas of contact and exchange between Australia and Indonesia and their respective peoples.

Aims

  • To contribute to a more broadly based and enduring relationship between Australia and Indonesia by increasing people-to-people contacts and institutional links
  • To portray Australia as culturally diverse, educationally, scientifically and technologically advanced and economically enterprising
  • To increase understanding of and to improve access for Australians to the cultural diversity of Indonesian society and the opportunities offered by its developing economy.

Goals

  • To create within Australia a wider range of people with knowledge about Indonesia, especially current and future opinion makers
  • To create in Indonesia a nucleus of people with expertise in Australian affairs, specially current and future opinion leaders
  • To promote in each country increased exposure to the other through media, educational, cultural, sporting, professional and business activities.
