Australia’s Services Exports Action Plan
On 6 April 2021, the Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment launched Australia’s Services Exports Action Plan – a Government and industry strategy to boost services exports. This Action Plan complements other services strategies for international education and tourism.
Australia is a world-class provider of services. The services sector employs more than four out of five Australians and accounts for nearly three-quarters of Australia’s GDP. The Action Plan recognises the potential for growth in Australian services exports. It outlines long-term goals for strengthening the competitiveness of Australian service suppliers into the future.
The Action Plan was developed in partnership with Australian industry. Industry made 72 recommendations to improve the competitiveness of the services sector. These recommendations drive 82 actions, grouped under five outcomes, which represent tangible improvements for the services export sector.
The Services Exports Action Plan is hosted on its own website.
