Visit to China to advance regional trade

Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment Simon Birmingham will represent Australia at the 8th Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Ministerial meeting in Beijing this week. RCEP has the potential to deliver significant opportunities for Australian businesses as well as further integrate regional markets, lower trade barriers and boost export opportunities in our region.

Joint Standing Committee on Treaties inquiries

The Parliamentary Joint Standing Committee on Treaties (JSCOT) has commenced separate inquiries examining the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement and Australia-Hong Kong Free Trade Agreement. JSCOT has invited interested persons and organisations to make submissions to both inquiries by 23 August.



JAEPA Post-Implementation Review: call for submissions

DFAT has invited businesses and other interested stakeholders to submit their views on the Japan-Australia Economic Partnership Agreement, as part of a five-year review. Submissions are requested by 23 August 2019.


WTO launches trade in services dataset

This week the WTO launched a new dataset covering the services exports and imports of 200 economies from 2005 to 2017. It features the first-ever comprehensive estimate of services trade by sector according to the four modes of supply as defined in the WTO's General Agreement on Trade in Services.


E-commerce Aid for Trade Fund: Round 1 now open

Applications are now open for the first round of the 'E-commerce Aid for Trade Fund' designed to help developing countries in the Indo-Pacific maximise the benefits of digital trade by increasing their e‑commerce capabilities.
