Building ties between Australian and Lebanon through rugby league
Grant funding allowed coaches and match officials from the Lebanese Rugby League Federation to travel to Australia for technical workshops during Australia's hosting of the 2017 Rugby League World Cup.
The group learnt new skills from high level NRL officials whilst touring Australia's world class sporting facilities. They also engaged with the Australian community through their shared love of rugby league, whilst discovering broader Australian culture beyond sport. Highlights of the trip included cheering on the Lebanese national team at the World Cup and meeting with members of the Australian Lebanese diaspora.
