BRIDGE teachers meet the Australia-Thai Institute Board

The Australia-Thailand Institute Board met with 24 Thai and Australian BRIDGE teachers in Canberra on Friday 22 August. This year, teachers have been selected from eight secondary schools, three primary schools and one special education school in Australia and Thailand. They are currently undertaking a professional development program in Australia which supports classroom learning, develops intercultural understanding between partner schools, enhances contemporary knowledge and understanding of each country, and explores how social media can support classroom collaboration.

Since its establishment in 2013, 16 teachers from eight school partnerships have been involved. In 2014 BRIDGE expanded to include twelve new school partnerships. The program is implemented by The Asia Education Foundation with support from the Thai Ministry of Education and Australian Education International in Bangkok.
