Project description

Tennis Australia will promote valuable in-country expertise by delivering a junior wheelchair tennis training camp and wheelchair coach development workshop. This will be hosted in partnership with both Australian and Japanese wheelchair players and coaches. Players will then participate in the Melbourne Wheelchair Tennis Open, an International Tennis Federation (ITF) sanctioned event.

This project will build on the existing relationships between Tennis Australia, the Japan Wheelchair Tennis Association, and the Japan Wheelchair Sports Association, with support from the Japanese Consulate in Melbourne and Hume Community and Tennis Centre. The program provides exciting and very valuable opportunities to develop wheelchair tennis programs in both countries.
