Australia-Indonesia Virtual Lab: A Technology and Innovation Collaboration
- Sector: Science, Technology and Innovation
- Country location: Australia, Indonesia
- Grantee: The University of Sydney
A team of researchers from the University of Sydney, in collaboration with the Indonesian Ministry of Finance, will develop an innovative research platform connecting Australian and Indonesian researchers to joint research facilities, data repositories and computational tools. The new research platform is called the Australia-Indonesia Virtual Laboratory, a cloud-computing network that allows many researchers in different locations to access a collaborative online environment in which they can share their data, tools and results. The facility will create previously unrealised research efficiency and synergies, and lead to opportunities for research innovation and knowledge exchange to inform government and business, and advance Australia-Indonesia research capabilities to assist in progressing Indonesia's regions further towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Workshops will be conducted in Sydney and Jakarta.
