Australia and the Republic of the Marshall Islands enjoy a close bilateral relationship based on shared regional interests. The Australian Embassy in Pohnpei, the Federated States of Micronesia, is responsible for Australian affairs in the Republic of the Marshall Islands until the opening of a new Australian Embassy in Majuro (estimated 2021).

Expanding our diplomatic footprint

Australia is strengthening our relationship with the Republic of the Marshall Islands by establishing a new diplomatic mission in Majuro.

Supporting humanitarian responses

In September 2019 Australia supported the Republic of the Marshall Islands' response to a severe dengue outbreak by sending much-needed medical treatment and prevention supplies.
