Progressing Gender Equality in the Pacific (PGEP) Project: mid-term evaluation and management response
Summary of publication
Progressing Gender Equality in the Pacific (PGEP) is a five-year project working with the 14 Pacific Island countries (PICs) to strengthen governments' capacity to mainstream gender and improve gender statistics to better monitor progress towards gender equality.
It is funded by the Australian Government through Pacific Women Shaping Pacific Development and implemented by the Pacific Community (SPC). The PGEP project commenced in 2013 and will finish in 2018.
In July 2016 a formative mid-term evaluation of PGEP was commissioned by DFAT to:
- identify progress during the first three years of the project (1 July 2013 – 30 June 2016) and
- inform a decision on the continuation of the program into phase 2.
The evaluation explored questions related to relevance, effectiveness and efficiency of the project. Below is the evaluation report and a joint management response by DFAT and SPC.
