Solomon Islands Health Sector Support Program: Independent completion report and management response

Summary of publication

The purpose of the ICR evaluation was to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of Australia's support through the Health Sector Support Program - Phase 2 (HSSP2). HSSP2 is Australia's bilateral program of support to the Solomon Islands health sector delivered through earmarked budgetary support using a Sector-wide approach (SWAp) mechanism. HSSP2 started in July 2012 and will end in 2016 with an investment of approximately AUD 75 million. The ICR collected evidence and provided recommendations to help improve Australia's next phase of support to the Solomon Islands' health sector from 2016 to 2020.

DFAT Management responses to the recommendations identified in the Independent Completion Evaluation Report (ICR) of the Health Sector Support Program Phase 2 (HSSP2) 2012-2016. The purpose of the ICR was to evaluate and assess HSSP2's relevance, effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability and to provide recommendations for future Australian assistance to the Solomon Islands Health Sector.
