Visas for Australian Citizens Travelling to Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia or Moldova
If you are an Australian citizen, you need a visa to visit Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia and Moldova.
These countries do not have embassies or consulates in Australia which have the authority to issue visas. Information on visa requirements, including costs, as well as the application forms, can be found on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs web-site for each country. The information is usually found under "consular issues" or "visa services".
Armenia - www.armeniaforeignministry.com
Azerbaijan - www.mfa.gov.az
Belarus - www.mfa.gov.by
Georgia - www.mfa.gov.ge (the Honorary Consul in Sydney cannot issue visas)
Moldova - www.mfa.md
For Armenia, the application can be submitted and processed electronically via the internet.
For other countries, the process must be completed by mail or in person at one of the embassies maintained by the country outside Australia. The locations and contact details (street and e-mail addresses, telephone and fax numbers, and opening hours) of those embassies are available from Embassyworld.
Should you need to attend an overseas embassy in person to complete your application, it is important to make contact, via e-mail, fax or telephone, with an embassy official to confirm that you have a correct understanding of their requirements and procedures. You should also discuss your proposed travel arrangements with a relevant embassy official before mailing your passport and the necessary documents. We recommend that you send your documents by certified mail, and that you factor into your travel plans plenty of time for the embassy to process your application and return your passport.
Information and visa application forms for the above countries can also be found on the web-sites of embassies located in Washington DC, New York or London. For contact details, see Embassyworld.
