Register online for Federal Government trade missions
Australian companies and business associations can now register their interest online to join ministerial trade missions overseas. The online facility is open now and accessible at http://www.austrade.gov.au/business-delegations.

TM announces $40,000 scholarship for women in international business
Trade Minister Andrew Robb has announced the establishment of the Beryl Wilson Austrade Scholarship for Women in International Business, honouring Beryl Wilson, the first Australian woman to become a trade commissioner. The $40,000 scholarship will be awarded to a female international business student.

Dutch pharmaceutical company opens $62m facility in Australia
DSM Pharmaceutical Products has opened a state-of-the-art bio manufacturing facility in Australia. The facility is located in Brisbane and will custom-make drugs on contract for local companies. DSM is one of the most recent international companies to expand its R&D capabilities in Australia.

OECD Economic Outlook: Global growth to accelerate but down on earlier forecasts
The OECD forecasts global growth will accelerate from 2.7% in 2013 to 3.6% in 2014, although this is down from its earlier forecast for 2014 of 4%. The outlook for economic growth has weakened due in part to weaker prospects in emerging market economies. Australia is tipped to grow at 2.6% in 2014.

Azevêdo continues consultations as members enter the final stretch to Bali
WTO DG Roberto Azevêdo continued intensive consultations over the weekend in an effort to conclude a package of agreements for the Bali Ministerial in December. Azevêdo will report to the WTO General Council before Bali on the progress of his consultations.
