Trade seminars outline Chile trade opportunities
A series of market seminars being conducted by Austrade in Australian capital cities in October will highlight the benefits of trade with Chile. The seminars come on the eve of the scheduled Entry-into-Force on 1 January 2009 of a Free Trade Agreement between Australia and Chile – Australia’s first FTA with a Latin American nation.
Australia’s trade with Chile is growing fast, reaching $856 million in 2007. It is Latin America’s most stable and transparent commercial environment and an investment base for over 70 Australian or Australian-affiliated companies. The FTA is an important milestone in Australia’s growing engagement with the broader $4 trillion Latin American market.
