DFAT08-SWE-030 - Request for Tender for the Provision of a Cultural Program for the Australian Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo 2010

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) seeks to engage a high quality service provider to design and implement a comprehensive and exciting cultural program highlighting Australian talent which will enhance Australia's presence at the Shanghai World Expo 2010. The successful tenderer will provide a high impact program which will advance the objectives of the pavilion by showcasing Australia's cultural assets. The objectives of this program will be to entertain visitors and contribute to a positive pavilion experience; increase awareness of the diversity and talent of Australia's creative arts sector; celebrate the richness of Indigenous arts and culture; help promote Australia's cultural exports, having regard to the role and objectives of the Australia International Cultural Council; and be a powerful drawcard for positive media coverage of Australia, both at the expo and more generally.

Conditions of Participation

Tenderers must demonstrate compliance with the following Conditions of Participation:

(a) the Tenderer must not be banned from entering or working in the People's Republic of China, or employ or contract with any persons convicted in the People's Republic of China;
(b) the Tenderer and any of its proposed subcontractors must not be named as not complying with the Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Act 1999 (Cwlth);
(c) the Tenderer and any of its proposed subcontractors must not be named on the list of persons and entities designated as terrorists under the Charter of United Nations (Terrorism and Dealing with Assets) Regulations 2008;
(d) the Tenderer must state any circumstances or relationships which constitute or may constitute a Conflict of Interest or potential Conflict of Interest in relation to this RFT or the Tenderer's obligations under any contract resulting from this RFT;
(e) the Tenderer must not make false or misleading claims or statements, obtain confidential information, receive improper assistance, or engage in collusive tendering, anti-competitive conduct or other similar conduct with any other Tenderer or other person in relation to the preparation or lodgement of Tenders; and
(f) the Tenderer must not be bankrupt or insolvent, and must be financially viable.

Other Information

An industry briefing outlining DFAT's requirements for this Request for Tender (RFT) will be held on Monday 1 September 2008. The briefing will take place at the R.G Casey Building, Barton ACT at 10:00 a.m.

Closing Time
