Addendum No.5 – 15 May 2008
Additional Information to RFT documentation
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) wishes to advise all potential Tenderers that the following information applies to the above Request for Tender (RFT).
Information
1) As per the site visit conducted on Monday 12 May 2008, DFAT can confirm the following information:
1. 1 Contractual
a) the Defects Liability Period is 12 months;
b) the terms of payment are 30 days from submission of certified invoice to Australian Passport Office; and
c) the value for Liquidated Damages is yet to be announced
1.2 Partitions
a) Tenderers are to include the cost of insulation of any new partitions
1.3 Doors and Hardware
a) The scope of works to doors is quantified on HBO+ETMB drawing IA 800 – Partition & Door Details - Rev B at Attachment B
b) Tenderers are to allow for Door type A to D3, D4, D5, D6, D7, D8, D9, D10, D11, D12, D13, D14, D15, D16, D17, D19, D20, D21, D22, D23, D24. Refer drawing for size and specification of door. Doors are to have a paint finish.
c) The door furniture specification to these doors is as follows;
i) Lockwood 1420/1421/91 lever on square rose in satin chrome finish (scp)
ii) The lock is to be a Lockwood 3572.z mortice lock in satin chrome finish (scp) with a free lever to the inside and cylinder to the outside. The cylinders will be required to be on the Master keying system.
d) Tenderers are also to allow for Door Type B to D1, D2 and D18.
e) The hardware to these doors is to be reused from the existing doors and tenderers are to allow to co ordinate with the electrical contractor.
1.4 Joinery
a) Tenderers are referred to the typical counter elevation on drawing IA 901 – Joinery (reception & waiting) - Rev B at Attachment B.
b) Tenderers are advised that this typical elevation applies to all waiting area/ cashier counters in the reception area marked on drawing IA 200 – Partition Plan - Rev B (Attachment B) as A through N.
c) The scope required to these counters is inclusive of a new timber veneer to the front of the counter in addition to a new toughened glass screen between the counter top and the bulkhead. Glazing film is also to be included.
d) Tenders are to allow a NEW reception counter as shown on IA 900 – Joinery (reception counter) - Rev B at Attachment B.
1.5 Workstations
a) Tenderers are advised the WS 4 workstation which appears in the specification does not appear on the workstation drawing IA500 – Furniture & Workstation Plan - Rev C at Attachment B. The WS 4 workstation is therefore not to be included in the tender submission.
1.6 Painting & Decorating
a) Tenderers are to allow for painting of all new and existing partitions, columns, core walls, perimeter walls, plasterboard margins and bulkheads and window sills.
b) The painting of the new timber doors is also to be included.
1.7 Floor Finishes
a) The floor finishes including carpet and vinyl is by the landlord’s contractor and therefore tenderers do not need to include costs for the supply and installation of any floor finishes. While these costs are NOT to be included, tenderers are required to allow for the costs involved in the coordination, management and supervision of the landlord’s contractor.
1.8 Blinds
a) The tenderers are to allow for the new blind fabric only. (i.e. existing tracks to remain).
1.9 Electrical Services
a) The PP symbol on the electrical drawing TE-13-02 T01 is an existing patch panel to remain. There are no additional works associated.
1.10 Mechanical Services
a) There are 11 supply air outlets to balance VAV boxes B-13 and B 20.
1.11 Program
a) Tenderers are to nominate the amount of working days upon which the tender is based.
Amendments
Tenderers are advised that the following request documents have been amended as follows:
1. the Draft Contract (Agreement) is now replaced with the attached Revised Draft Contract; and
2. the RFT Closing time for lodgement of tenders has been extended from 20 May 2008 to 2:00pm (VIC Local time) on Friday 30 May 2008

Tenderers are advised that all other terms and conditions of the RFT remain unchanged.
The closing time for lodgement of tenders is 2:00pm (VIC Local Time) on Friday 30 May 2008.
