Solomon Islands is a country endowed with natural resources and attractions, yet despite this, the economy is no larger today than it was ten years ago. Ethnic tensions and civil unrest have often been blamed for severe economic regression, but deeper underlying economic and social problems have been eroding the island nation's economy over a number of years. This report seeks to assist with developing policy to support economic recovery, focusing on how the private sector can play a greater role in economic growth.
