As requested, I obtained interview with Pearson who preferred not to comment, as message was for consideration and copy was, he presumed, given to him for information only. In conversation, however, he indicated that speaking personally only, he felt that;

(1) United Kingdom attitude had been constructive in respect of the United States resolution [2], and, (2) The form of the resolution eventually passed was probably the most effective action that the Council could take in the circumstances. Details follow by despatch.
