Recent exchange of letters between Minister for External Affairs and Siamese Foreign Minister can be regarded as indication that we are in normal diplomatic relations with Siam. [2]

1 Dispatched 12 July 1948, it reported an enquiry from the Siamese Minister of Foreign Affairs, conveyed through K.S. Patton, Adviser to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as to whether there was any news on question of recognition 2 Eastman informed the Siamese Foreign Minister in these terms on '9 July 1948.
