MOST IMMEDIATE FOR THE PRIME MINISTER HIMSELF ONLY

Political. Labour Party have refused to join the Government under Chamberlain but agreed to co-operate in the formation of a National Government under another Prime Minister. Chamberlain seeing the King tonight and though not definite I anticipate that Churchill will be sent for and new Government formed immediately.

Chamberlain has agreed to continue as member of the Cabinet.
