APEC and the rise of the global middle class
The Prime Minister has released the report APEC and the Rise of the Global Middle Class, which was produced by the department’s Economic Analytical Unit. The report highlights projections that rapid economic growth will lead to a major increase in the number of people in APEC’s developing economies with significant discretionary spending power. It examines the policy implications of this development, and the role of APEC’s agenda in addressing them.
