The Australia-China Council supports practical and innovative projects that develop Asia capabilities and promote the importance of Asia literacy among young Australians.
One of the new programs we support this year is the Engaging China Project initiated by the Australia-China Youth Association (ACYA).
Andrea Myles, National Director of Engaging China Project writes:
The Engaging China Project is an exciting new initiative which is designed to make meaningful impact on the way young Australians view China. Our workshops in schools are led by an amazing 4000+ talent pool of young people in universities and young professionals who have lived, worked or studied in China and have learned Mandarin. Our Engaging China Project Ambassadors have experienced firsthand the amazing opportunities that engaging with China opens up for young people and know well that the future Australia-China relationship lies in the hands of today's young. In our workshops and online, we tell real stories about what it's like to start the China adventure. We demystify China and make it real and "cool". We personify what being China-literate looks like (Hint: it looks fun!). We also solidify understandings of China as diverse landscapes of opportunity, especially for young people who will live through the Asian Century and even shape the twenty second century.
We are delighted to be funded by the Australia-China Council and supported by the Australia-China Youth Association, Australia-China Young Professionals Initiative and the Australia-China Youth Dialogue. We are actively looking for ways we can engage with you to benefit the Australia-China relationship.
We would love to hear from you!
