The Dreaming Stories: Australian Indigenous Cultural Festival will be held from 22-26 January 2009 at the BlitzMegaplex Grand Indonesia.

The festival will feature screenings of significant Australian Indigenous films, in a continuation of the success of the last Australian film festival in Indonesia in 2004.

Films on show will include the Indonesian premier of the award-winning Ten Canoes; together with screenings of Rabbit Proof Fence; The Tracker; Yolngu Boy and Australian Rules, a film about Australia’s own football code. All films are in English with subtitles in Indonesian.

The films will be shown alongside an exhibition of contemporary Indigenous Australian art from remote Western Australia, titled BALGO. BALGO offers a riot of colour and energy exploring in depth the stories, history and lives of some of the world’s greatest living artists.
