Biography
Alice Cawte is a senior career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). She has served overseas in Beijing (1992-1994 and 2001-2005) and in Noumea (1997-2000). She has held various positions in Canberra, in both DFAT and the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet. She was Assistant Secretary, East Asia Branch, DFAT from 2005 to 2008.
Ms Cawte holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Sydney. She is married with two children.
