Biography

Ms Grace is a senior career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Ms Grace was most recently Director, Counter-Terrorism Policy Section, and has worked in a variety of positions in Canberra. Overseas, Ms Grace has had extensive experience in the region, having served as Deputy Head of Mission, Tehran (2003-06), First Secretary, New Delhi (1997-2000), and for a short-term mission as Chargé d’Affaires in Islamabad (1998-1999).  Ms Grace joined the Department in 1991 and was the Department’s first exchange officer to the Japanese Government in 1994. 

Ms Grace holds a BA (Japanese, Political Science) from the University of Melbourne, a Graduate Diploma (Japanese) from Swinburne University, and a Master of International Law from the Australian National University.  Ms Grace is married.
