Mr Peter Rowe

Biography
Mr Rowe is a senior member of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and prior to taking up his current appointment he was the Deputy Head of Mission in Jakarta.
He has served as High Commissioner in Colombo (1999-2001), Minister and Deputy Head of Mission in Seoul (1995-98), as well as serving in Wellington, Hong Kong and Beijing.
Mr Rowe worked in the Office of National Assessment from 1986 to 1990, with responsibility for Korea and China and subsequently as acting head of the Asia Branch. On return to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade he was Director of the Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Section.
Born in Sydney in 1950, Mr Rowe was educated at the University of Sydney and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree.
