Mr Brett Aldam

High Commissioner to Kiribati

Biography

Mr Aldam is a career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Prior to his appointment as High Commissioner to Kiribati, Mr Aldam was Director of United States Trade Section, a position he has held since 2007. Other positions he has held in Canberra include Executive Officer, United States Trade Section (2006), Executive Officer, Pacific Regional Section (2001-02) and Executive Officer, Pacific Bilateral Section (1999-2001).

Overseas, Mr Aldam served as Second, later First Secretary and Deputy Head of Mission, Nairobi (2003-06) and Third Secretary, Suva (1996-99).

Mr Aldam holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the University of Adelaide, a Master of Arts from the Northern Territory University and a Master of Foreign Affairs and Trade from Monash University. He is married.
