Mr Bruce Cowled

Biography
Mr Cowled is a career foreign service officer who joined the Department of Foreign Affairs in 1969. Prior to his appointment as the Consul-General in Bali, he served as Acting Assistant Secretary, Finance Services and Systems Branch, in Canberra. Mr Cowled has held a variety of positions in Canberra including Director, Financial Services Section (2002-2005), Executive Officer, Evaluation and Audit Section (2000-2002), and Executive Officer, Internal Audit Section (1995-1996).
Mr Cowled has served overseas as First Secretary in The Hague (1997-2000), Bandar Seri Begawan (1991-1994), Chicago (1987-1991), Mexico City (1985-1987) and Santiago (1981-1985), Second Secretary in San Francisco (1979-1981) and New Delhi (1977-1979), and Attaché in Manila (1973-1976).
Mr Cowled holds an Advanced Diploma of Foreign Affairs and Trade from Deakin University. He was born in June 1951 and is married with two sons and one daughter.
