Biography

Mr Fletcher is a senior career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. His most recent position in Canberra was First Assistant Secretary, North Asia Division. He has also held the position of Assistant Secretary, Pacific Islands Branch (2001-03). Mr Fletcher has served overseas in Beijing on three occasions (1986-88, 1997-2000 and 2004-2008) and also in Noumea (1992-94). Mr Fletcher speaks Chinese and French. He is married with three children.
