Biography

Mr Kang is a senior career officer of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and was recently Assistant Secretary, International Organisations Branch. Overseas, Mr Kang served as High Commissioner to Vanuatu from 2009 until 2010, Deputy Head of Mission and Counsellor, Australian Embassy Manila from 2006 until 2008, and an earlier posting to London.

Mr Kang holds Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degrees from the University of Sydney and a Graduate Diploma in Arts (Foreign Affairs and Trade) from Monash University. He is married with one son.
