Wallis & Futuna

Wallis and Futuna is an Overseas Territory of France, consisting of the small islands of Wallis, Futuna, Alofi and associated islets, situated to the north of Fiji and west of the international date line.

Its people are Polynesian.  Some 20,000 of them (more than half) live outside the territory, in New Caledonia (where there are wider economic opportunities).  Some 10,000 people live on Wallis Island and 5,000 on Futuna Island.
